2019 SHIFTING THE STRUCTURE OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY UNDER THE IMPACT OF 4.0 TECHNOLOGY

The tourism industry has subjected to significant changes due to paradigmatic shifts in the structure of interconnections of economic actors operating at various stages of the technological cycle, from the creation of a new service to its production and consumption. In addition to cloud services and rapid development of technologies that simplify international financial transactions, which have mainly concerned the transformation of virtual processes and have radically changed the demand structure in the tourism market, an entirely new stage should be expected in the supply content of the tourist and related services. These changes are partly forcing the majority of traditional companies to comply with, since the creation of a new type of service is impossible without the integration of several nonrelated industries. Nevertheless, without launching an innovative tourist product into the market in the near future, there is a risk for the manufacturers of losing consumers – those who were saved after virtualization and individualization of services at the previous stage. This study is focussed on the issues of restructuring the production chain in the tourist product creation process in the national economies and the global market; the fundamental changes in the behaviour of consumers caused by the development of technologies at the end of the XXth - the beginning of the XXIst century; possible scenarios for the development of the world tourism industry, depending on the orientation of most states towards the postulates of the cyclical economy or the economy of expanded reproduction. The study also aims to present how industry 4.0 integrates with the complex tourist services and explain why it is more appropriate to track it by indirect evidence; and to illustrate innovative tourism products based on industry 4.0 and 3D-printing.
